However, do you do you know the technology systems that are required to make it happen?
Questions to ask yourself:
- What type of systems do you have in place to support yourself?

- Do you have a website, Instagram and funnel to bring people to your offers?
- Do you have a calendar system that keeps your on time and accountable?
- How do you track your time with your clients and customers?
- How do you keep track of your success?
You Need a Business Command Center (BCC)
Do you have a business command center setup to effectively run, manage, grow and keep track of your daily, weekly, and monthly business activities?
Or be honest, is all that information living in various spreadsheets, notebooks, Google Docs and your brain?
If you answered the latter, you need to create a centralized system to manage your business. Without this critical element to your business, you will forever be a business operator that has basically built themselves a job.
Your goal for building a business is to become a business OWNER. And to become a business OWNER, you need systems.
A business command center is a system designed to:
- Track action items and delegate tasks
- Store and find critical information quickly and easily
- Keep track of your leads and active customers
- Store playbooks, processes and procedures
- Organize and build digital products
- Track your marketing and social media
- Help you fulfill on your offers and nurture your clients
A business command center (BCC) allows you to ensure that all of your business functions are centralized, accessible, organized and secure. A BCC is a critical component to any business because it allows you to manage, grow and scale your business in a centralized location.
Businesses are composed of many working parts, and whether you are currently a solo-founder or working with a team, it is critical for you to have a digital space where all of your business tasks are coordinated.
Without a BCC, you will be searching everywhere for information and you won’t have a centralized location to store new information and access stored information.

Business Technology - Organization & Automation
To run a 21st century business, you are going to need to have systems of digital organization and automation. Your ability to take enough action to support your business as it grows will quickly be exceeded by your availability of energy and time, thus causing you overwhelm and lack of cashflow.
However, if you have technology automations systems setup that support you and the daily actions of your business, you are going to be able to handle more as a business owner, and you are going to be able to delegate tasks more easily to your team.
Most of these concepts are for online business, however you can apply and use this technology in ANY business in the world. Even brick and mortar stores I would recommend incorporate these systems into their business to organize, scale and grow.
So what are the critical pieces of technology are necessary to start, grow and scale an online business?
ATM Framework
Lets start with the ATM concept before we dive into specific software products.
These are:
- Audience Engine
- Trust Engine
- Monetization Engine
Each of these engines has to be running in parallel to continue to reach new clients, bring new awareness to your business, and convert leads to clients and customers. Rather than write all this out for you on how these systems work together, I want to offer you a video that explains this concept by my friend Miles Beckler.
The critical technology necessary to start your online business
So now that you understand a bit more about the concepts of building an online business that will give you the freedom and financial support necessary to live out your mission; I want to dive a bit deeper into what technology to use.
Start Small and Grow Piece by Piece
There are endless pieces of software you could use to run your online business. The thing is that most people get very overwhelmed quickly with all of the options that are out there. They think they need 12 pieces of software just to generate leads and manage their business.
I would like to encourage you to start small. Start with the critical pieces of software you need to run your business and then grow from there, adding new technology only after you have mastered the technology you are already using.
This comes from a concept called The 4-Stages of Competence. You want to become aware of something, understand it and ultimately master it so that your sub-conscious brain takes control and it is easy for you to use this tool.
So what software technology is critical to build your online business?
To start an effective online business, I believe there are only a few tech systems that are really critical to get you going. As you grow and require more automation, you will need to
You need somewhere to generate and organize your thoughts so that you can create offers.
You need a way of sharing these offers with the world through a landing page, you need a way of fulfilling those offers, and you need a way to nurture your audience.
The technology I mention here is for people that are mostly doing online products and services, there might be additional things necessary if you are selling physical products, but for the sake of this module we are going to start with online digital products.

To run an online business, you need a way of presenting your offer to the world, delivering your content, and following up with your audience.
